History: Part of the Kanawha County Library system, the Clendenin Branch Library was established as a branch library in 1988. After a devastating flood in 2016, the library moved to the former Clendenin Middle School in 2018. Consisting of the main library in Charleston and branch locations in St. Albans, Glasgow, Clendenin, Cross Lanes, Dunbar, Elk Valley, Sissonville, Marmet and Riverside, the Kanawha County Library system is the largest in the state and now serves over 181,000 residents.
